Main Post Office, Tonopah Nevada
Built in 1941, the downtown post office on Main Street in Tonopah, Nevada opened for business on the fateful date of December 7, 1941, the same day as the attack on Pearl Harbor.
The architecture of the Tonopah post office is a 20th century style known as Starved Classical specified by the U.S. Office of Supervising Architect during the Great Depression of the 1930’s.
Located on Main Street, the Post Office has served as a popular central location for both city and Nye County residents.
